Shots fired from rubber-bullet handgun in Moscow — police

Police are now taking action to locate and detain the culprits

MOSCOW, February 4. /TASS/. Shots from a rubber-bullet pistol were fired in Moscow following a dispute between occupants of two cars, the Russian Interior Ministry told TASS.

The altercation took place on Kastanayevskaya Street and involved individuals inside a Hyundai and a Mercedes. The driver and passengers of the Mercedes fled the scene in the car.

Police are now taking action to locate and detain the culprits.

The Russian Investigative Committee started a criminal investigation into the incident. Investigators said one of the individuals involved in the altercation was forced into one of the cars and taken away in an unknown direction.

The dispute was sparked by a car purchase gone wrong, according to a law enforcement source.

"The victim bought a car, but his parents didn't like it. The young man called the seller and set up a meeting, which ended in a conflict," the source said.

He identified the victim as Islam Khushalayev, with a date of birth in 2003. Police are on the lookout for the man.
