Tajikistan’s aluminum production gained 24% annually in 2024 — minister

Gold production increased by 18.8% in 2024, Sherali Kabir said

DUSHANBE, February 6. /TASS/. Primary aluminum production in Tajikistan surged by 24% to 83,000 metric tons in 2024, Minister of Industry and New Technologies Sherali Kabir said.

"Aluminum production has a good growth trend - 83,000 metric tons were produced [in 2024], which is 16,000 metric tons more [than in 2023]," the minister said, adding that annual growth was 24%. The aluminum producer Talco made 66,600 metric tons in 2023. Aluminum production is forecast to reach 180,000 metric tons in 2025, which will require an overhaul of reduction cells.

Gold production increased by 18.8% in 2024, Kabir said. Production of antimony and silver gained 23% and 45% respectively. Record high growth of copper production took place in Tajikistan, the minister said. Negotiations were held with a Chinese company to build a copper rod plant in the country, he added.
