YEREVAN, January 16. /TASS/. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has addressed the leaders of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) member states on the occasion of Yerevan’s chairmanship in EAEU bodies in 2024 and noted the importance of revising the principles and instruments of economic interaction.
"The current instability of global economy requires a revision of the principles and instruments of economic interaction. Amid this environment we should do our best to ensure a full-fledged functioning of the EAEU meeting the interests of citizens and businesses of our countries," the head of the Armenian cabinet said in an address.
Serious results have been achieved on all areas of cooperation since the integration started functioning almost a decade ago, he added. "That said, a number of strategic issues remain, without solving which the formation of an efficient single economic space is hardly possible," Pashinyan noted.
He also stressed the importance of the declaration dubbed ‘Eurasian economic path’ on further development of economic processes within EAEU through 2030 and the period until 2045, which formulates the prior areas of development of the Union, which has been passed. "This year will see an important task of developing a plan of action unveiling particular mechanisms of implementing the declaration, which largely defines the strategic development of the EAEU in the mid and long term," the Armenian prime minister concluded.
