Car sales in Russia in 2023 may reach 1.13-1.15 mln units — Haval Motor Rus

"We look at the statistics, it is now showing some kind of slowdown," Andrey Akifiev said

MOSCOW, October 25. /TASS/. Sales of passenger cars and LCVs in Russia may reach 1.13-1.15 million vehicles by the end of 2023, which is almost 1.6 times more than in 2022, executive director of Haval Motor Rus Andrey Akifiev told reporters.

"This year, there are different forecasts, so far, we have a forecast of around 1,130,000 - 1,150,000," he said.

"We look at the statistics, it is now showing some kind of slowdown. But, in general, sales should reach around 1,130,000," he added.

Earlier, the Association of European Businesses adjusted its forecast for the new car market in Russia. According to the AEB, sales may reach 1 million cars by the end of 2023. The Industry and Trade Ministry maintains a similar forecast of 1 million cars. However, as the ministry previously reported, over the first 9 months of this year, about 906,000 vehicles were sold in Russia, of which 718,900 were passenger cars.
