Novatek eyes payments in national currencies for LNG — CEO

The company is open to rupee payments for LNG but "the balance should be considered," Leonid Mikhelson added

BANGALORE, February 6. /TASS/. Novatek is considering an opportunity of India’s payments for LNG in national currencies, including the rupee, CEO Leonid Mikhelson told reporters.

"Certainly, we will not make balances even as regards the amount of LNG sales and money spending but this will nevertheless contribute to making payments in national currencies," the chief executive said.

The company is open to rupee payments for LNG but "the balance should be considered," Mikhelson added.
