Batch production of Aurus Komendant crossovers launched in Tatarstan

"Already now all the main Aurus’ components are being produced in Russia," the manufacturer stated

MOSCOW, November 28. /TASS/. The batch production of the Aurus Komendant SUV has been launched at a plant in Yelabuga, according to a statement by the car’s manufacturer on Monday.

"On November 26, 2022, at the Aurus plant in the Alabuga special economic zone in the Republic of Tatarstan, the process of serial production of Aurus Komendant was launched. This is the first Russian luxury SUV which will be completely produced in our country with components supplied mostly by Russian manufacturers," the statement said. "Already now all the main Aurus’ components are being produced in Russia," it noted.

The launch was attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Industry and Trade Minister Denis Manturov and President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov. Komendant became the second model in Aurus’ luxury line. The serial production of the first model, the Senat sedan, began in May 2021.
