IKEA confirms search for suitable buyers of its business in Russia — company

Earlier, IKEA announced that it will sell its four factories in Russia and leave the retail business in the county shut

STOCKHOLM, June 15. /TASS/. IKEA has confirmed the information that it has started to look for possible buyers for its business in Russia but did not disclose the details about the sale of its enterprises in the country.

"We don't have the details firmed yet as we are just starting up the process of finding suitable buyers for the industrial operations in Russia," the company’s press officer Heena Saini told TASS.

Earlier on Wednesday, IKEA announced that it will sell its four factories in Russia and leave the retail business in the county stopped, which will result in a reduction of workforce.

The company, which has been present in Russia since 2000, is not leaving the country completely: its retail business, which has been suspended since March 4, remains on pause.
