Hainan wraps up construction of foreign trade warehouse for developing e-commerce

A three-story warehouse for cross-border online commerce occupies about 12,000 square meters

HAIKOU, June 27. /TASS/. The Hainan authorities have confirmed the completion of construction of a foreign trade warehouse for the development of e-commerce on the island. According to the Hainan Daily, this facility, located in the Yangpu special economic zone, will be commissioned in July.

"The construction has been completed, the warehouse has already been inspected and approved by the Yangpu bonded port area development office, the quality control station, the project's supervising company and other relevant organizations," the publication quotes the representative of the contractor Chen Liqiang. “The fire control system is underway, and in the first days of next month the object will be presented to the customer. "

A three-story warehouse for cross-border online commerce occupies about 12,000 square meters in the bonded port area of Yangpu in the north of Hainan — an area with a special tax and customs regime that promotes trade and investment. Construction work began in April 2019, and despite the coronavirus pandemic was completed in due time in accordance with the plan, the publication writes. Investments in the construction of a logistics facility amounted to 46.8 million yuan (about $ 6.6 million).

Earlier, the deputy head of the Chinese Main Customs Administration Li Guo stated that the development of the Yangpu special zone is the priority among the key targeted projects that the government intends to implement in accordance with the comprehensive strategy for Hainan's free trade port.
