BELGRADE, January 17. /TASS/. Russian company Gazprom Neft intends to invest $1.4 bln in Serbia until 2025, President Vladimir Putin said at a press conference after talks with Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic.
"The leading Russian investor in the Serbian energy sector, Gazprom Neft, which has invested about $3 bln in the NIS subsidiary, also intends to invest another $1.4 bln by 2025," Putin said.
According to him, at present NIS is the largest tax payer in Serbia and one of the leading oil and gas corporations in Eastern Europe.
Putin also noted that the Russian company Power Machines provides assistances to Serbia in the reconstruction of power plants.
"No doubt that an additional impetus to the growth of the Serbian economy could be given by the implementation of joint plans in the field of the peaceful atom, which is reflected in the signed intergovernmental agreement," he added.
Putin also noted that Russian Railways is taking part in creation of a modern single traffic control center in Serbia, which will significantly increase the capacity of the country's transport network.
