Missile launches in four media carried out during Finval-2023 exercise first time

According to the press service of the Pacific Fleet, a total of 5 missile launches, 80 artillery firings and about 250 different tactical exercises were carried out during the joint drills of the Pacific Fleet’s detachment

VLADIVOSTOK, September 25. /TASS/. Participants in the Finval-2023 exercise, conducted to practice protection of the Northern Sea Route, for the first time in the recent history carried out missile launches simultaneously from the sea, from the shore, from the air and from underwater, the press service of the Pacific Fleet has said.

"The exercise took place in the Chukchi and Bering seas, as well as on the Chukchi Peninsula under the general guidance of Admiral Nikolay Yevmenov, the commander-in-chief of the Russian Navy. A total of 5 missile launches, 80 artillery firings and about 250 different tactical exercises were carried out during the joint drills of the Pacific Fleet’s detachment, coastal missile units and naval aviation in the Arctic region. For the first time in recent history, simultaneous missile launches were conducted in four media: from the sea, from the shore, from underwater and from the air," the press service said.

About 10,000 servicemen and more than 50 pieces of combat equipment, including surface ships and support vessels, submarines, planes and helicopters of naval aviation, coastal missile systems Bal and Bastion, as well as wheeled and tracked cross-country armored vehicles took part in the tactical exercise Finval-2023. All drills, defensive in nature, were to improve the training of forces for operations on Russia's northeastern borders.

Currently the tactical groups of ships are on the way to their bases. The Bal and Bastion coastal missile systems are getting ready for a combined march. The planes and helicopters of naval aviation involved are returning to their airfields in accordance with the flight plan.
