MOSCOW, September 29. /TASS/. The Russian Armed Forces could "wipe out" what remains of Ukraine’s energy sector, that is why Kiev must agree to a peace deal before winter sets in, Ukrainian lawmaker Dmitry Razumkov stated.

"We have very little time left to make peace, because if the war doesn’t end before winter, unfortunately, I predict <…> that the Russians won’t miss the opportunity to destroy our energy infrastructure completely," he said in an interview with Ukrainian journalist Natalia Vlaschenko.

According to the lawmaker, several thousand houses in Kiev could be left without heat this coming winter.

Last winter, Ukraine experienced prolonged power and heating outages due to damage to its energy infrastructure. The country’s authorities fear that the scale of damage to the energy sector will increase, making the coming winter even more difficult. In light of this, the Verkhovna Rada (parliament) has advised Ukrainians to stock up on water and firewood.
