France ready to send troops to Ukraine immediately following ceasefire — radio report

The plan is to deploy French troops away from the front line at strategically important sites

PARIS, September 24. /TASS/. France is ready to deploy its military personnel to Ukraine immediately if a ceasefire is established there, the Europe 1 radio station reported.

The deployment of French soldiers could take place as part of the Coalition of the Willing to provide assistance to Kiev, it said.

The plan is to deploy French troops away from the front line at strategically important sites. "Their task will be to train, equip, and, above all, rebuild the Ukrainian army. Rafale fighter jets will help ensure airspace security," Europe 1 reported.

In addition to France, other countries in the Coalition of the Willing may also send troops to Ukraine. It is not yet known exactly how many soldiers these countries plan to send, but, according to the radio, the number could be in the thousands.

Russia opposes the presence of military personnel from NATO countries in Ukraine. Earlier, President Vladimir Putin stated that the deployment of European troops to Ukrainian territory would mean war with Russia.
