NEW YORK, July 28. /TASS/. The late Republican Senator Lindsey Graham (included in the Russian list of terrorists and extremists) advocated for the continuation of the conflict in Ukraine until the very end, US President Donald Trump has stated.
"And over the last few weeks, I would say that he became like ‘If you can make a deal [with Iran], it's better making a deal in this case than just destroying the rest of the country," Trump said in a broadcast on Fox News. "I wouldn't say, necessarily, he feels that way about Ukraine. Ukraine, he's very militant about."
Trump recalled that Graham was a lover of wars. "Lindsey liked war. To be honest with you," Trump noted. "I jokingly say, and it's nothing funny about it, but he's never seen a war that he didn't like."
Trump is expected to meet with Vladimir Zelensky today. According to White House officials speaking to journalists, they will discuss issues related to the settlement in Ukraine. Zelensky is also expected to attend Graham's funeral during his visit to the United States.
