NEW YORK, May 16. /TASS/. US President Donald Trump said Cuba may seek assistance from the United States.

"I think they're gonna have to come to us. <...> They want aid. They need help," he said in an interview with Fox News.

Earlier, Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel said the country would be grateful to the US government if it were to provide assistance in line with established humanitarian practice. He listed fuel, food, and medicine as priorities for such support. Diaz-Canel also noted that the damage could be repaired more quickly if the energy, trade and economic blockades were lifted or eased.
