Trump considers 20-year suspension of Iran’s uranium enrichment 'enough'

The US leader pointed out that he is not satisfied with the assurances offered by Tehran

WASHINGTON, May 15. /TASS/. US President Donald Trump stated that a 20-year pause in Iran’s uranium enrichment would be sufficient, provided there are adequate guarantees from Tehran.

"Twenty years is enough," he told reporters in response to a question on board the presidential plane en route from Beijing to Alaska.

The US leader pointed out that he is not satisfied with the assurances offered by Tehran. "But the level of guarantee from them <…> It's got to be a real 20 years," Trump noted.

On May 10, Iran conveyed to Pakistan its response to US proposals for resolving the conflict in the Persian Gulf region. According to sources cited by The Wall Street Journal, Tehran has refused to dismantle its nuclear facilities, a demand insisted upon by Washington.
