Iran's ambassador to Russia says turning Iran into another Gaza is impossible

Kazem Jalali added that Iran needs victory, either through war or through negotiations, but emphasized that any dialogue must proceed under new conditions

MOSCOW, March 12. /TASS/. Iran’s Ambassador to Russia Kazem Jalali said that the United States and Israel, having attacked Iran, will not be able to create a situation in the Islamic Republic resembling the situation in the Gaza Strip.

He made this statement during a press conference held to mark International Quds Day.

"If they [the US and Israel] think they can turn Iran into Gaza, or turn Iran into Lebanon, they are mistaken, deeply deluded, because that is impossible. They have fundamentally misjudged the situation regarding Iran," the diplomat stressed. "We have a robust system, a robust political order."

The ambassador added that Iran needs victory, either through war or through negotiations, but emphasized that any dialogue must proceed under new conditions. He explained that Tehran demands guarantees that aggression not take place again, reparations be paid, and a sustainable peace be laid down.

The United States and Israel launched a military operation against Iran on February 28. Major Iranian cities, including Tehran, were struck. The White House justified the attack by citing alleged missile and nuclear threats from Iran. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps announced a retaliatory operation, targeting sites in Israel. US military bases in Bahrain, Jordan, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the UAE were also hit. Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and some other key Iranian leaders were killed in the joint US-Israeli attack.
