HAVANA, February 26. /TASS/. An accomplice of those who opened fire on a Cuban patrol boat from a US-registered speedboat has been detained in the country and has admitted his guilt, Cuba’s Interior Ministry said.
"Cuban citizen Duniel Hernandez Santos, who was sent from the United States to facilitate the armed incursion [by the group on the speedboat], has been detained on national territory [of Cuba]," the ministry said in a statement on Facebook (Facebook is banned in Russia due to its ownership by Meta, designated as extremist), adding that Hernandez Santos "has already confessed to his actions."
As the Cuban Interior Ministry reported earlier, a speedboat registered in the US state of Florida entered the island's territorial waters. People on board opened fire at a Cuban patrol boat, who fired back. According to the ministry, four people were killed and six wounded among those aboard the US vessel. The commander of the Cuban border patrol was also injured.
