BRUSSELS, October 10. /TASS/. NATO will kick off its nuclear deterrence exercise on October 13, the bloc’s Secretary General Mark Rutte announced.
"Volkel Air Base in the Netherlands is part of NATO’s nuclear exercise, Steadfast Noon, which will start on October 13," he said in a video address.
Notably, no nuclear weapons will be used in the exercise.
The drills take place every year, involving both nuclear and non-nuclear NATO members. The exercise is designed to train algorithms and maneuvers aimed at conducting potential nuclear strikes on Russian targets.
