Three people killed in Thailand due to earthquake, another 81 reported missing

LONDON, March 28. /TASS/. At least three people have died in Bangkok, Thailand due to the destruction and collapse of buildings caused by a powerful earthquake in neighboring Myanmar, with 81 individuals unaccounted for, Reuters reported, citing Governor Chadchart Sittipunt.

The governor also cautioned that further seismic activity could occur, but urged residents to remain calm, emphasizing that the situation is primarily under control, the news agency stated. The authorities received 169 reports of building damage. Bangkok's city subway lines were temporarily suspended but are expected to resume operations on Saturday.

In Bangkok, residents of multi-story apartment buildings are being evacuated. Thailand's prime minister declared a state of emergency in the capital.
