Hungary, Russia to broaden ties in areas unaffected by sanctions — Szijjarto

The Foreign Minister specified that the two countries intend to broaden economic cooperation in agriculture and the pharmaceutical industry

BUDAPEST, March 26. /TASS/. Hungary and Russia plan to expand cooperation in areas unimpacted by EU sanctions, Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Economic Relations Peter Szijjarto announced following his visit to Moscow.

In the Russian capital, Szijjarto met with Russian First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov and Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak.

The Foreign Minister noted that the two countries intend to "broaden economic cooperation in areas unaffected by sanctions, such as agriculture and the pharmaceutical industry, where Hungarian companies will be able to play an even greater role in the Russian market."

"We also welcomed the fact that [Hungarian oil company] MOL has very successful production activities in Russia and that this provides it with a sufficient basis for expanding its presence in the Russian market in the future," Szijjarto said in a video message recorded on Moscow's Red Square and broadcast by Hungarian TV channel M1.
