World expects parties to Ukrainian conflict to cooperate — Indian foreign minister

NEW DELHI, February 21. /TASS/. The global society expects the parties to the conflict in Ukraine to cooperate with each other in order to resolve it, Indian Foreign Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar said at the G20 foreign ministers’ meeting in Johannesburg.

"Regarding the Ukraine conflict, we have long advocated dialogue and diplomacy," he was quoted as saying by the Indian Foreign Ministry.

"Today, the world expects that parties concerned deal with each other to end the war," the minister added.

Earlier, India's foreign minister said he met with his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov in Johannesburg. At the meeting, they discussed the latest developments related to Ukraine, as well as progress in cooperation between Moscow and New Delhi.

A meeting of the G20 foreign ministers was held on Thursday in South Africa.
