WASHINGTON, February 7. /TASS/. Corruption within the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) reached levels rarely seen before, US President Donald Trump said.

"USAID is driving the radical left crazy, and there is nothing they can do about it because the way in which the money has been spent, so much of it fraudulently, is totally unexplainable. The corruption is at levels rarely seen before. Close it down!" he wrote on the Truth Social platform.

The US administration in fact suspended the activities of USAID on February 3. Based on Trump’s decision, Secretary of State Marco Rubio was appointed the agency’s temporary chief. The process had been initiated by entrepreneur Elon Musk, appointed by Trump to head the newly established Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).
