Belarus' government resigns — statement

"The government resigned before the newly elected president in accordance with the Constitution," the statement reads

MINSK, February 3. /TASS/. The Belarusian government has resigned based on an order signed by Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko, the cabinet’s press service said in a statement.

"The government resigned before the newly elected president in accordance with the Constitution," the statement reads. The order takes effect on the day of its signing, the cabinet added.

Under the law "On the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus," in case of resignation, the government operates on the presidential order and continues to perform its duties until a new cabinet is formed.
