America more divided than four years ago, says Rasmussen poll

The polling company points out that only 16% of those surveyed think otherwise

NEW YORK, January 22. /TASS/. A majority of Americans, 55%, believe that the nation is more divided now than four years ago when Joe Biden took office, according to a poll conducted by Rasmussen Reports.

The polling company points out that only 16% of those surveyed think otherwise. Another 30% of respondents said that the country was just as divided prior to Biden’s presidency.

The online and telephone poll, conducted on January 16 and 19-20, involved over 1,200 likely voters. The margin of sampling error is 3%.

NBC News reported earlier that Biden, 82, has left the nation divided, the Democratic Party in tatters and the American people questioning his respect for the legal system, given the pardon he issued to his son Hunter.

Biden handed the reins of the country over to Donald Trump on January 20, with the presidential inauguration for the first time in 40 years taking place in the Capitol Rotunda, capable of accommodating some 1,000 people. Trump won the November 5 presidential election, defeating Democratic candidate Kamala Harris, who served as vice president in the previous Washington administration.
