Biden administration plans to send $1.22 bln in military aid to Ukraine by year end

According to the source, the allocation of funds is expected within the framework of the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative, which includes the purchase of weapons from US manufacturers

WASHINGTON, December 18. /TASS/. The administration of outgoing US President Joe Biden plans to send $1.22 bln in military aid to Ukraine by the end of 2024, US portal Defense One reported with reference to a senior official of the US Department of Defense.

According to the source, the allocation of funds is expected within the framework of the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative (USAI), which includes the purchase of weapons from US manufacturers.

In early December, Reuters reported, citing a document, that the US administration was working on preparing another package of military aid to Ukraine in the amount of $988 mln through USAI.

The Biden administration actively supported Kiev, providing significant financial and military resources. This support included arms deliveries, training of Ukrainian troops, and humanitarian aid totaling more than $59 bln. Russian authorities have repeatedly stated that giving Ukraine weapons will not reduce Moscow's resolve or change the course of the special military operation.
