Ukrainian Defense Ministry allocates extra $26 mln for army drones

"These funds will go directly to brigades so that they can cover all essential needs," Ukrainian Prime Minister Denis Shmygal said

MOSCOW, December 13. /TASS/. The Ukrainian Defense Ministry has allocated 1.1 billion hryvnias ($26,300,000) to brigades of the country’s army for purchasing unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and covering key needs, Ukrainian Prime Minister Denis Shmygal reported on his Telegram channel.

"The defense ministry has allocated an additional 1.1 billion hryvnias for the purchase of drones. These funds will go directly to brigades so that they can cover all essential needs," he said, noting that this funding coincides with Vladimir Zelensky’s order to raise the direct funding of brigades for additional drone purchases.

The PM noted that this month the Ukrainian Defense Ministry would allocate 4.3 billion hryvnias ($102,900,000) to military brigades, and had already provided them with 27.2 billion hryvnias ($650,700,000) over the past eleven months.

Meanwhile, in the first ten months of this year, the government spent 229 billion hryvnias ($5.48 billion) on the purchase of military equipment, weapons, munitions, defense products, individual protective gear, and food products for security and defense forces.
