WASHINGTON, December 11. /TASS/. US President-elect Donald Trump will be named ‘Person of the Year’ by the Time magazine on December 12, the Politico newspaper reported with reference to sources.
To celebrate the unveiling of the cover, Trump will ring the opening bell of the New York Stock Exchange on Thursday morning, according to people familiar with the plans.
The short list of candidates also includes Vice President Kamala Harris; Catherine Middleton, Princess of Wales; billionaire Elon Musk and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Last December, pop star Taylor Swift got the title.
Time already gave the title to Trump in 2016, after his victory in the US presidential election, making him 14th US president to receive the recognition. The list also includes outgoing US President Joe Biden.
Russian President Vladimir Putin was named ‘Person of the Year’ in 2007.
