TUNIS, December 3. /TASS/. Syria’s government forces have eliminated at least 200 terrorists, including some commanding officers, and shot down more than 20 drones operated by terrorists during the day, the army command said.
"Our armed forces managed to eliminate at least 200 terrorists, including commanders of foreign groups, and to shoot down and destroy more than 20 drones launched by militants at villages and cities," it said in a statement posted on its Facebook page (Facebook is banned in Russia due to its ownership by Meta, which has been designated as extremist).
It also reported that "during the day, a series of pinpoint strikes were delivered on terrorist units. An operational headquarters of the so-called Hayat Tahrir al-Sham terrorist organization (outlawed in Russia), three munitions depots and dozens of armored vehicles were destroyed."
The Syrian army continues artillery and missile attacks on the militants’ positions, their headquarters and convoys in the northern part of the Hama governorate and in Idlib, it said, adding that the Syrian air forces continue to carry out strikes in coordination with Russian forces.
On Monday, Syrian government forces liberated the towns of Karnaz, Tal Meleh, Jalma, Jubbayn, Hayalin, and Sheikh Hadid located in the Hama governorate along the highway linking the cities of Al-Suqaylabiyah and Mharda.
Units of the Jabhat al-Nusra extremist group (outlawed in Russia) staged a large-scale attack on Syria’s northern governorates early on November 27. According to the Syrian government army command, the terrorists attempted to seize a number of neighborhoods and military facilities, attacking the positions of government forces. The Syrian army launched an operation to repel the attack.
On November 30, the Syrian army command said that government forces were delivering strikes on terrorists’ positions in Aleppo. According to the Syrian defense ministry, the army had to regroup to save the lives of civilians and its troops and prepare for a counterattack.
