Hungary, Russia find solutions in conditions of US sanctions against Gazprombank

The decision of the US administration on sanctions seriously affected Hungary in four lines of payments passing via Gazprombank until recently, Peter Szijjarto said

BUDAPEST, December 3. /TASS/. Hungary and Russia have already found solutions for three out of four problems occurred in view of US sanctions against Gazprombank, Hungary’s Foreign Affairs and Trade Minister Peter Szijjarto said at a hearing in the economic committee of the national parliament.

The decision of the US administration on sanctions seriously affected Hungary in four lines of payments passing via Gazprombank until recently, Szijjarto said. It affected transactions for supplies of the Russian nuclear fuel for the nuclear plant in Paks, gas transit via the territory of two neighboring countries, and gas purchases under contracts with Gazprom, he added.

The minister said that he discussed these issues on Monday in Moscow with Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak and representatives of Russian energy majors, Szijjarto noted. "We found solutions for three out of four issues. In one case, we already have the legal base for two competing legal frameworks, from which we will select the best ones," the minister said, with his statement broadcast on the parliament’s website.
