WASHINGTON, November 20. /TASS/. The Ukrainian people are becoming more discontented with how the US is handling the conflict in the country, as a Gallup poll shows that approval ratings for the American government are down 26% compared to two years ago.
According to the survey, only 40% of respondents support the decisions the White House makes, down 13% from 2023 (53%) and 26% less than in 2022 (66%). Ukrainian support levels for American policies have almost returned to where they were prior to the special military operation. Thus, the number of supporters and dissenters is nearly equal. The number of people who oppose what the US authorities are doing has risen by 21% and now stands at 37%.
"The goodwill the United States built up in the early months of the war has been lost," the authors of the survey conclude.
US President Joe Biden’s administration has actively supported Kiev, providing significant financial aid and military resources. This support included arms shipments, training of Ukrainian servicemen and humanitarian aid amounting to more than $59 billion. Russia has repeatedly stated that funneling weapons to Ukraine will not reduce Russia’s resolve or change the course of the special military operation.
