NEW YORK, November 17. /TASS/. US President-elect Donald Trump will pick Liberty Energy CEO Chris Wright as the country’s next Energy Secretary.

"Chris has been a leading technologist and entrepreneur in energy. He has worked in nuclear, solar, geothermal, and oil and gas," reads a statement released by Trump’s transition team on Saturday. According to it, Wright will also sit on a new National Energy Council announced by Trump on Monday.

The post of US Energy Secretary is currently held by Jennifer Granholm. Among other issues, the US Department of Energy oversees the country’s nuclear weapons sector.
