WASHINGTON, November 11. /TASS/. Incumbent US President Joe Biden will try, in the remainder of his term, to persuade President-elect Donald Trump not to end assistance to Ukraine, White House National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan said.

"President Biden will have the opportunity over the next 70 days to make the case to the Congress and to the incoming administration that the United States should not walk away from Ukraine, that walking away from Ukraine means more instability in Europe," he told CBS News.

Sullivan also pointed out that Biden had promised Ukraine that the US administration "will have sent the full amount of resources and aid to Ukraine the Congress has authorized" by January 20.

The Washington Post wrote on November 10, citing sources, that after winning the US presidential election, Donald Trump held a telephone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin. There has been no confirmation of the report either from the US or Russia. According to the Washington Post, Trump and Putin discussed the situation in Ukraine and ways to establish peace in Europe, with the US president-elect expressing "an interest in follow-up conversations to discuss the resolution of Ukraine’s war soon."
