Chinese Foreign Minister supports creation of independent state of Palestine

According to the diplomat, Beijing deems it necessary to settle the Palestine-Israel issue based on UN Security Council resolutions

BEIJING, April 9. /TASS/. The Chinese authorities support the Palestinian people’s wish to have their own independent state and call on the international community to help make this happen, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said.

"The international community should support the Palestinian people in creating an independent state by actual actions," he said at a press conference in Beijing following talks with his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov.

According to the diplomat, Beijing deems it necessary to settle the Palestine-Israel issue based on UN Security Council resolutions.

"Thus, the Jewish and Arab peoples will be able to co-exist peacefully, promoting longstanding peace in the Middle East," Wang Yi added.
