MOSCOW, April 6. /TASS/. Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky has met with a US congressional delegation in a northern Ukrainian region that borders on Russia and Belarus.
"I held a meeting with Congress members yesterday specifically in the Chernigov Region. I informed my partners about the situation on the battlefield, the priority needs of our military," Zelensky said on Telegram. "I underscored that it is vital that the US Congress makes a decision to continue supporting our country as soon as possible."
The Ukrainian president said the US delegation was bipartisan.
Ahead of the visit, Mikhail Podolyak, an adviser to the chief of staff of the Ukrainian president's office, said that the delay in Congress with a vote on allocating additional aid to Ukraine was critical for Kiev, as it is unable to compensate for the lack of US support. According to Podolyak, congressional discussions on the issue take a toll on the US reputation and "demoralize" other partners.
