Kharkov’s energy infrastructure almost completely destroyed, mayor says

Igor Terekhov added that "all transformer substations" have been knocked out and it’s impossible to restore them quickly

MOSCOW, April 1. /TASS/. Kharkov’s energy infrastructure has been almost completely destroyed, the city’s Mayor Igor Terekhov said.

"Almost all critical energy infrastructure sites have been destroyed, as well as private facilities," he told Ukraine’s Liga.net media outlet.

Terekhov added that "all transformer substations" have been knocked out and it’s impossible to restore them quickly. "The situation in the energy sector is very difficult," the mayor noted.

Russia’s Defense Ministry announced on March 22 that the Russian Armed Forces had delivered a massive retaliatory strike by precision weapons and unmanned aerial vehicles against Ukraine’s energy facilities and air defense sites, disrupting production operations and troop rotations and wiping out foreign-made military equipment.
