Israel to attack Hamas everywhere — defense minister

Israel will continue operations against the radical Hamas movement everywhere, including areas it has not yet entered, Defense Minister Yoav Galant said before a meeting in Washington with the US presidential national security advisor, Jake Sullivan. In particular he was referring to the city of Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip.

"We (Israel - TASS) will act against Hamas everywhere - including areas where we have not yet been to. We have no moral right to stop the war in the Gaza Strip before we bring all the hostages home," the Israeli Defense Ministry's press service quoted Galant as saying.

Israel "will find an alternative to [Gaza's ruling] Hamas so that the IDF (Israel Defense Forces) can fulfill its mission [to destroy Hamas and free the hostages]," Galant added.
