UN, March 9. /TASS/. Attacks targeting civilians and civilian infrastructure facilities are inadmissible and prohibited for all parties involved in the Ukrainian conflict, a senior UN official on humanitarian issues said.

"Attacks directed against civilians and civilian objects are prohibited under international humanitarian law," Lisa Doughten, OCHA's (Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs) Director of Financing and Partnerships Division for the office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, said at the UN Security Council’s session on Ukraine.

"Indiscriminate attacks are also strictly prohibited," she said. "Parties to the conflict must take constant care to spare all civilians and civilian objects, including infrastructure essential for civilians' survival."
