London plans to increase number of drones supplied to Ukraine to 10,000

LONDON, March 8. /TASS/. The UK Ministry of Defense plans to allocate an additional 125 mln pounds ($160 mln) for the purchase of drones for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

"I am ramping up our commitment to arm Ukraine with cutting-edge new drones coming directly from the UK’s world-leading defence industries - straight from the factory floor to the frontline. I encourage international partners to join the UK in this effort," Defence Secretary Grant Shapps said.

"On my third visit to this great country, I was pleased to be able to offer my firm reassurance to President Zelensky on the UK’s unwavering commitment to the brave people and military forces of Ukraine," he added.

The department said in a statement, this will increase the number of drones transferred to Kiev to 10,000. To date, the UK has supplied Ukraine with over 4,000 drones. Deliveries will continue through 2024.
