U.S. does not prohibit allies from supplying weapons to Kiev — Nuland on ATACMS missiles

US Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs stressed that she would not comment on the choice of targets for strikes by the Ukrainian armed forces

WASHINGTON, February 23. /TASS/. The United States does not impose any bans on allies supplying any weapons to Ukraine, US Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs Victoria Nuland said commenting on the possibility of the American allies supplying medium-range weapons to Kiev.

"Again, I'm not aware of the US preventing allies from sending weapons to Ukraine," she said at the Center for Strategic and International Studies in Washington, answering a question about the possible transfer of extended-range ATACMS missiles to Kiev.

However, Nuland stressed that she would not comment on the choice of targets for strikes by the Ukrainian armed forces or talk about whether Washington gives any advice to Kiev on this matter.

"But again, I'm not going to comment on whether these choices that Ukraine makes about where it strikes, or about the advice that we give them," she said.

On Thursday, US National Security Council Strategic Communications Coordinator John Kirby said that the United States does not rule out the possibility of supplying ATACMS missiles to Ukraine.
