Top North Korean diplomat leaves for Russia — KCNA

SEOUL, January 15. /TASS/. A government delegation of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) led by Foreign Minister Choe Son Hui left Pyongyang for Russia on January 14, the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) said.

According to it, the delegation was seen off at Pyongyang International Airport by Vice Foreign Minister Pak Chol Jun, Vladimir Topekha, Russia’s charge d'affaires in the DPRK, and military attache of the Russian Embassy Valery Isayenko.

As reported earlier, Choe is visiting Russia on January 15-17 at the invitation of Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov. Lavrov visited Pyongyang in October 2023. The visit was timed to mark the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Russia and North Korea. The top Russian diplomat was received by North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.
