BEIRUT, January 3. /TASS/. The recent Israeli attack on the southern suburb of Beirut that killed senior Hamas member Saleh al-Arouri will not go unpunished, Hezbollah said in a statement.
"The Islamic resistance will not leave this Israeli crime without a response," the Lebanese political party said on Telegram. "Retribution for the assassination of Saleh al-Arouri will follow at the right time in the right place."
Hezbollah fighters control the Beirut neighborhood, where an Israeli drone on January 2 hit a three-story building that housed Hamas headquarters. The strike killed al-Arouri and six others, including two commanders of the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas.
"Israel resorted to political assassinations after the failure of its armed aggression against the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip became apparent," the Hezbollah statement said.
