MOSCOW, January 1. /TASS/. A port infrastructure facility has suffered damage in the southern Ukrainian city of Odessa, Natalya Gumenyuk, spokesperson for the operational command of Ukraine’s Battlegroup South, said.

"The port infrastructure [in Odessa] came under attack. Unfortunately, one of its facilities was hit. The facility caught fire but it was quickly extinguished," she told the Rada TV channel, without providing any further details.

Air raid sirens went off in the Odessa Region in the early hours of Monday. Ukrainian media outlets reported a series of explosions in the city of Odessa.
