In the coming year, Beijing hopes to further strengthen bilateral cooperation with Moscow, particularly in light of the 75th anniversary next year of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the USSR (to which the Russian Federation is the successor state) and the People’s Republic of China, Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Wang Wenbin stated at a briefing.
"Next year, China and Russia will celebrate the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, and the Russian-Chinese Years of Culture will begin (2024-2025 - TASS)," he said. "We expect <...> to see ever-deeper cooperation between the two countries, the expansion of cultural and regional exchanges, and increased benefits for the two countries and their peoples." Wang added that China aims to build relations with Russia based on the principles of mutual respect and mutual benefit.
According to him, Moscow-Beijing ties are characterized by "perfect mechanisms of high-level exchanges" and "close communication between the leaders of the two countries."
