West tries to destroy integration ties between Belarus, Russia — KGB

Ivan Tertel said that the West is "actively searching for persons who could replace those who are in Vilnius and Warsaw, as well as Kiev centers but have so far failed to do so

MINSK, December 13. /TASS/. The West is still attempting to change the constitutional order and geopolitical orientation of Belarus and destroy the integrated Belarusian-Russian interaction, Chairman of the State Security Committee of Belarus Ivan Tertel told reporters.

"One of them (goals - TASS), which is realized by the Western special services and political circles, is the destruction of integration and fraternal ties primarily with Russia and other commonwealth republics, which left the Soviet Union," the BelTA agency quoted Tertel as saying.

He also said that the West is "actively searching for persons who could replace those who are in Vilnius and Warsaw, as well as Kiev centers but have so far failed to do so. Accordingly, Tertel continued, the same search for individuals is being conducted among those people who are "connected to the leadership" of Belarus. "The West needs to bring about a split in the establishment. We are aware of this and we are working on it. This split will not happen," said the head of the agency.

Tertel added that "Western states will now try to bring about a rift in the unity of security bodies."
