Finland to start producing artillery ammunition for Ukraine — top defense official

"The intention is to support Ukraine even more than we do now," Antti Hakkanen added

STOCKHOLM, December 5. /TASS/. Finland will start production of artillery ammunition for Ukraine, Finnish Defense Minister Antti Hakkanen said.

He pointed out that the decision on production will be made "very soon, probably before Christmas", which is celebrated in Finland on December 25.

"The intention is to support Ukraine even more than we do now. At the same time, we will further increase the readiness of Finland and the Nordic countries for munitions production," Hakkanen said in an interview with the Iltalehti newspaper.

In November, the Finnish authorities announced that they would provide Kiev with the 20th military aid package worth about 100 million euros. In total, Helsinki has allocated about 1.5 billion euros for Ukraine's military needs.
