Ukraine not to join NATO in 2024 — Hungarian foreign minister

Peter Szijjarto’s conversation with Hungarian journalists was streamed on social media

BUDAPEST, November 29. /TASS/. NATO countries have agreed that Ukraine will not become a member of the alliance in 2024, Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto said after attending a two-day meeting of NATO Ministers of Foreign Affairs in Brussels.

"The allies have made it clear that under the current circumstances it is out of the question that Ukraine will become a NATO member. Therefore, it became obvious to everyone today that Ukraine will not be invited to NATO until the next summit and at the next summit, despite the fact that NATO will celebrate its 75th anniversary at the next summit, which will take place in Washington," the Hungarian foreign minister said after the alliance’s meeting and the NATO-Ukraine Council meeting.

Szijjarto’s conversation with Hungarian journalists was streamed on his Facebook page (the social media owned by US corporation Meta that is outlawed as an extremist organization in Russia).
