MOSCOW, November 29. /TASS/. Israel is endeavoring to achieve the release of all hostages held by radical Palestinian group Hamas in the Gaza Strip, including Russian nationals, and is in non-stop contact with the Russian Foreign Ministry on this issue, Israeli Ambassador to Moscow Alexander Ben Zvi told reporters.
"We maintain constant communication with the Russian Foreign Ministry on all issues related to the conflict, including the issue of hostages," the diplomat pointed out. He noted that the Israeli side is striving to liberate all hostages, including Russians.
Earlier, Russian Special Presidential Envoy for the Middle East and Africa Mikhail Bogdanov met with the family of Russian national Ron Krivoy, who was released from captivity in the Gaza Strip. His relatives thanked the Russian diplomatic agency for its assistance in securing his release. In late October, Bogdanov told TASS that Hamas representatives had pledged to satisfy Moscow’s appeal for the release of eight Russians held hostage.
On Wednesday, Hamas Political Bureau member Mousa Abu Marzook said that the radical movement was planning on releasing several more Russians as an expression of its gratitude to Russian President Vladimir Putin.
