TEL AVIV, November 22. /TASS/. Israel's Justice Ministry has published on its website a list of Palestinian prisoners who may be released in accordance with the agreement on the hostages held in the Gaza Strip since October 7.
"A list of prisoners eligible for release has been prepared in accordance with a government order. The information is correct at the time of publication and was provided by law enforcement authorities," the ministry said in a statement.
The list published by the ministry includes data on 300 Palestinian prisoners, twice the number Israel originally agreed to release in exchange for the 50 hostages held in Gaza, Kan Radio said.
The publication of the list gives Israelis the opportunity to appeal to Israeli courts for the release of certain prisoners, The Times of Israel pointed out. According to the agreement, Israel will release up to 150 prisoners in exchange for 50 hostages in the first four days, and more will be released in the same ratio from a list of 300 prisoners as additional hostages are released, the newspaper said.
