Hamas demands Arab, Islamic countries pressure US for Gaza settlement

"We call on Arab and Islamic countries to put pressure on Washington to stop [Israeli] aggression [in the Gaza Strip] and open the crossings," a member of the Palestinian Hamas movement leadership Basem Naim said

RABAT, November 10. /TASS/. Arab and Islamic countries should put pressure on the US to get it to stop the Israeli onslaught in the Gaza Strip, a member of the Palestinian Hamas movement leadership Basem Naim said.

"We call on Arab and Islamic countries to put pressure on Washington to stop [Israeli] aggression [in the Gaza Strip] and open the crossings," Qatari TV channel Al Jazeera quoted him as saying.

"We hold the occupier (Israel - TASS) and [US President Joe] Biden's administration responsible for the killing of the sick, wounded and children," Naim emphasized.

On November 11, Riyadh will host an emergency summit of the Arab League on the situation in the Middle East.

Tensions flared up again in the Middle East on October 7 when Hamas militants staged a surprise attack on Israeli territory from the Gaza Strip. Hamas described its attack as a response to the aggressive actions of Israeli authorities against the Al-Aqsa Mosque on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem’s Old City. Israel has announced a total blockade of the Gaza Strip and has been delivering air strikes on Gaza as well as some parts of Lebanon and Syria. Clashes are also underway in the West Bank.
