LONDON, November 8. /TASS/. The United Kingdom has introduced sanctions against Russia’s Krastsvetmet, Ural Mining and Metallurgical Company, and gold miners Nord Gold and Highland Gold Mining, according to the updated list posted by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office.
The Russian National Reinsurance Company, Paramount Energy & Commodities, Paloma Precious, Fly Bridge companies and twenty individuals were added to the list. Among them are persons related to abovementioned companies, Director of the Russian Federal Financial Monitoring Service Yury Chikhanchin, Executive Director of Nord Gold Georgy Smirnov, CEO of Highland Gold Mining Vladislav Sviblov, and President of Yuzhuralzoloto Group Konstantin Strukov.
Restrictions were also introduced against the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs. The main objective of announced new sanctions are to reduce Russia’s abilities to earn profits from gold mining and oil production, and to circumvent sanctions via third countries, the Foreign Office said.
